About the microorganisms that DOX can detect
Can DOX detect and count molds?
We have confirmed that DOX can detect and count molds. However, we have not commercialized the cell cartridge or culture medium for molds so far.
Can DOX detect and count noroviruses?
No. DOX is designed to detect and count bacteria, not viruses.
Can DOX detect BSE infection?
No. DOX is designed to detect and count bacteria, and BSE is not a bacterial infection.
Can DOX analyze pesticide residue or residual chlorine?
No. DOX is designed to detect and count bacteria, not chemical substances.
Can DOX evaluate acidic or basic(alkaline) foods?
DOX cannot detect and count bacteria attached to highly acidic foods because general bacteria do not grow under strong acidity.
What kind of bacteria can DOX detect and count?
DOX can estimate the number of total viable cells and coliforms (quantitative test), and determine whether or not Escherichia coli is present in food products (qualitative test). As for food-poisoning bacteria, DOX can detect Staphylococcus aureus and salmonella.
Are there foods that DOX cannot analyze?
Foods that contain bacteriostatic agents are unsuitable for testing because DOX detects proliferation of microorganisms. Horseradish and tea are such examples.
